THE HIGH ATLAS

 

Just 45 minutes drive from Dar Moulouya lie the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. Here you can enjoy the country's best trekking, explore the Berber villages and ride mules up to the famous Kasbah Toubkal. 

 

The Atlas Mountains offer some of the region's most spectacular scenery and, if you are feeling adventurous, you can rock climb, mountain bike and even ski here. An excursion to the mountains is a striking contrast to the city of Marrakech and offers an insight into traditional rural life.

Palm Golf Ourika - 10 minutes drive.  PAR 72, 6972m. Green fee: 700 DH Buggy: 200 DH. (Buggies are essential as the layout is expansive)

KITE AND WIND SURFING

 

Essaouira - 2.5 hour drive. Many fabulous shops and little alleys in this beautiful old Moroccan seaport; there is a fascinating working fishing port and marvellous souk within the 18th Century Medina walls. We recommend Le Taros for evening sundowners and funky bar vibes. There are a host of gorgeous riads for accommodation, such as Riad Raord Rayhan, tucked in the back streets of the Medina, but beautifully decorated and with lovely ambience inside. 

 

BIRD WATCHING, OYSTERS AND A GORGEOUS LAGOON

 

 Oualidia, 2.5 hour drive is Morocco’s oyster capital! We recommend staying or lunching at L’hippocampe - where you will generously looked after by Mohammed..
